The Arts Night NW mission statment
Building Creative Bridges of Peace in the Heart of Kilburn
Arts Night is a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary arts event, based in the small Iranian owned art café, Sweet N Savoury, in the heart of Kilburn, North West London, one of the capital’s most diverse communities.
Arts Night is produced by Beverly Andrews, Michelle Inniss, and Rocio Rodriguez-Inniss (of Circles Productions and Pitch Lake Productions) and works in partnership with the Institute of Music Performance, Riverside Radio (formerly known as Wandsworth Radio), and Spoken Word in Paris.
Now in its third year, Arts Night aims at a very crucial moment in our global history to build a bridge of cultural understanding, between our diverse communities. The evening is an eclectic mix of live music, theatre, spoken word poetry and film and is recorded live and broadcast on Riverside Radio (please note that all recordings will include background noise of the working café).
Arts Night is a not for profit event which means we do not receive any public funding for the event. Every act, production team member and technical support staff as well as the venue are all involved because we are all passionate about our event’s mission. We are so grateful to all those who are willing to give up their valuable time to support this special event and continue to make Arts Night the success that it is.
A special thank you to our hosts Sweet N Savoury owners; Jamshid Zarkesh and Daryoush Rezvani, and all the Sweet n Savoury staff. Andy Bungay of Riverside Radio. The staff and students of Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. David Barnes, Spoken Word Paris. Tulip Sadiq MP for Kilburn and Hampstead.
